Niemiec and Adams Record Hat Tricks in 8-2 Win v. Salem State

Canton, NY – Noelle Niemiec and Tess Adams both recorded hat tricks as the SUNY Canton women's hockey team earned an 8-2 win v. Salem State in the consolation game of the WSYB/Catamount Radio Invitational on Sunday.
 
Niemiec and Adams each scored a pair of first period power play goals and Katie Ferguson added the fifth goal of her rookie season as the Roos (6-5-1) led 5-0 after one.
 
Niemiec finished off her hat trick in the second period, while Adams lit the lamp for the third time early in the third period and Sydney Jordan added SUNY Canton's eighth goal of the game midway through the third period.
 
The Roos were led by five points from Niemiec (three goals, two assists), five points from Adams (three goals two assists), four points from Jordan (one goal, three assists) and two points each from Alexa Parigi (two assists), Breanna Bedborough (two assists) and Katie Ferguson (one goal, one assist).
 
Kristen Caporusso earned her first collegiate win with 14 saves, while Isabelle Woodward stopped 25 shots for the Vikings (1-9-2). Amanda Giles and Danielle Kelley scored second period goals for Salem State.
 
The Roos were extremely impressive going 6-for-7 on the power play, while killing off three of their four penalties.

Niemiec and Adams were named to the All-Tournament Team for the Roos.
