Adams and Jordan Score; Women’s Hockey Unable to Overcome Mensi Hat Trick

Canton, NY – Tess Adams and Sydney Jordan found the back of the net but the SUNY Canton women's hockey team was unable to overcome a hat trick from Nicole Mensi in a 4-2 loss to Manhattanville College in the WSYB/Catamount Radio Invitational on Saturday.
 
Mensi tallied a pair of first period goals just more than four minutes apart off passes from Ashley Lougheed and Amanda Sabia to give the Valiants a 2-0 lead after one.
 
Sarah Sinning extended the lead to 3-0 at 6:16 of the middle period on the power play when she took a slap shot from the left circle.
 
Tess Adams got the Roos on the board at 8:53 of the second period when she ripped a shot from the right side that went between the arm and body of Valiant goaltender Rose Pijaca.
 
Mensi completed the hat trick just 13 seconds into the third period before Jordan lit the lamp off passes from Grace Page and Hannah Brady at the 4:42 mark leading to the 4-2 final.
 
The Roos outshot Manhattanville 23-13 as Brooke Susac made nine saves for the Roos and Pijaca turned aside 21 shots for the Valiants.
