Canton, NY – Luke Hincenbergs scored his first collegiate goal and Thomas Crabtree added his second of the season as the SUNY Canton men's hockey team earned a 2-2 tie v. visiting Chatham University on Friday.
 
The Roos opened the scoring at 13:02 of the first period taking advantage of a Chatham defensive zone turnover. Tyler Ralph picked off a pass and his shot was initially turned aside by his brother Trever Ralph but the rebound when right to Thomas Crabtree who buried his second goal of the season.
 
After a pair of matching minors the Roos were whistled for cross checking that gave the Cougars 1:27 of skating 4-on-3, but the Canton penalty kill held Chatham without a shot as the Roos took a 1-0 lead into first intermission.  
Chatham evened the score at one apiece with 3:02 left in the middle period. Michael Thamert hit Daniel Cangelosi out in front who put home his second goal in as many nights. Alex Cerda also earned a helper on the play.
 
The Roos regained the lead at 8:16 of the third period on Luke Hincenbergs first career goal. Kyle Matsumoto swung the puck from outside the left circle back to J.P. Langlois. Langlois sent the puck towards the far post where Hincenbergs put home a rebound.
 
The Cougars tied the game once again after a defensive zone turnover as Cerda found Michael Thamert on front of the net for a quick one-timer slotting his first goal of the season.

Josh Erickson made 23 saves in his third appearance on the season, while Ralph turned aside 33 shots for the Cougars.
