Canton, NY – Ashley Gillies scored her fourth goal in the last three games but a pair of goals from Maddison Devlin lifted visiting Morrisville State to a 2-1 win in Colonial Hockey Conference action on Friday in the Roos House.

The Roos (7-9-1, 3-2-0 CHC) got on the board first with 26 seconds left in a 5-on-3 power play.
Sydney Jordan fed the puck from the point to
Ashley Gillies at the right circle. She wristed a shot top shelf past the glove of Karoline Arvik. The goal was Gillies fourth in her last three games. The Roos dominated shots 17-7 taking a 1-0 lead into first intermission.

Morrisville (9-7-2, 4-0-1 CHC) evened the game at one as their power play was expiring with 1:46 to play in the middle period. Chyne Kennedy cycled the puck from the far side to Kaitlyn Schlake at the point. Her initial shot was saved by
Brooke Susac but Maddison Devlin stuffed home the rebound for her fifth goal of the season. Morrisville outshot the Roos 14-8 in the second period as the team skated to the third period tied at one.

The Mustangs took their first lead of the game at 4:57 of the third period. Maria deWilde cycled the puck behind her own net up the far boards to Mackenzie Lomb who deflected the puck over to Devlin on a break out. The sophomore wristed a shot that snuck by Susac, who appeared to be screened by a defenseman on the play.

Canton pulled the goalie with just over a minute left in the third period and called a timeout but Morrisville held on for the 2-1 win.

Susac made 27 saves for the Roos, while Arvik turned aside 29 shots for Morrisville. The Mustangs were 1-for-3 on the power play, while the Roos went 1-for-4 generating 13 shots.
