Susac's Strong Outing Leads Women's Hockey to 1-1 Tie v. Mustangs

Canton, NY – Brooke Susac stopped 34 of the 35 shots she faced to lead the SUNY Canton women's hockey team to a 1-1 overtime tie v. Morrisville State in Colonial Hockey Conference action at the Roos House on Saturday afternoon.
 
Morrisville (9-7-3, 4-0-2) had just over a minute of a 5-on-3 power play early on but Brooke Susac came up huge making seven saves with the Mustangs on the two skater advantage to keep the game scoreless.
 
The Roos (7-9-2, 3-2-1 CHC) had one power play opportunity but were unable to generate a shot as Morrisville held a 16-2 shots advantage after one but Susac was huge not allowing a single goal.
 
 
The Mustangs got on the board at 13:01 of the middle period when Alexziz Giannam wristed a shot from the top of the left circle past the glove of Susac. Jessica Ujcik and Chyne Kennedy earned helpers on the play. Canton outshot Morrisville 13-7 in the second period but the Mustangs took a one goal lead into intermission.
 
Canton tied the game at one at 3:04 of the third period when Breanna Bedborough jammed the puck between the pad of Karoline Arvik and the near post. Hannah Brady and Noelle Niemiec earned helpers on the play. The teams would skate into overtime tied at one.
 
Susac stopped both shots she faced in the overtime period to finish with 34 saves, while Arvik turned aside 22 shots for the Mustangs.
