Canton, NY – Danny Santana posted a team-high 18 points and
Joseph Werner recorded a double-double on 10 points and a game-high 18 rebounds as the SUNY Canton men's basketball team earned a 68-65 win v. visiting SUNY Delhi on Tuesday evening.
Both offenses struggled in the opening half as Delhi (13-12) shot 33 percent from the field and Canton (6-13) shot at a 32 percent clip. Santana led all players with 10 first-half points for the Roos, while William Knight posted eight points in the opening 20 minutes for Delhi.
Canton used a 5-0 run that included an
Andrew Fitch layup and
Adrian Williams found Santana in the left corner for a three-pointer to turn a one point deficit into a four point lead at 64-60. The Roos hit enough free throws down the stretch to hang on for the 68-65 victory.

Santana finished with 18 points on 6-for-12 shooting including a 4-for-7 mark from downtown, while
Joseph Werner had a monster double-double with 10 points and a game-high 18 rebounds including 15 on the defensive glass. Williams and Fitch recorded 11 points apiece and combined for 15 rebounds.
Knight led all players with 20 points, while Jordan Fragale (14) and Payton Dean (10) also finished in double figures.
