Garrett Cages First Hat Trick as Men’s Lacrosse Closes out Season v. Dean

Alfred, NY – Andrew Garrett recorded his first career hat trick but Anthony Trasacco scored his third goal of the game with 45 seconds left in overtime to lift Dean College to a 10-9 win in the consolation game of the USCAA Classic on Sunday.

The Roos (3-10) held a slim 6-5 lead at halftime and 7-6 advantage entering the fourth quarter. Garrett completed his hat trick with 4:30 remaining in regulation to give Canton a 9-7 lead but Trasacco and Colin Hinrichs scored goals just 12 seconds apart for Dean (9-6) to knot the game at nine apiece with 35 seconds left in the fourth quarter.

Garrett led the Roos with three goals, while Jake Sutton added two goals and one assist and Dante Coco chipped in two scores. Trenton Yule and Brandon Rodee tied a game-high five ground balls.

Kody Kocsis made 20 saves to finish the season with 219 saves averaging 16.8 stops per game. Jake Anderson turned aside 14 shots in the win.
