Oswego, NY – The Oswego State men's lacrosse team jumped out to a quick start and finished strong to earn a 17-5 victory against the SUNY Canton men's lacrosse team on Wednesday evening.
 
The Roos (3-8) jumped out to a 2-1 lead less than three minutes in behind goals from Luke DeGaetano and Jake Sutton 38 seconds apart. From there it was all Lakers as they scored eight unanswered times including three straight off the stick of Bobby Emerson and two from Jarrod Wilkom. Oswego State took a 9-2 lead into intermission.
 
The Lakers (6-7) outscored Canton 5-2 in the third quarter to open a 14-4 edge heading into the final quarter as they earned the 17-5 victory.
 
Kyle Smith led the Roos with three points on a goal and two assists, while Sutton finished with a pair of goals. Brandon Rodee and Hunter Yerdon led the team with three ground balls each.
 
Kody Kocsis made 17 saves between the pipes, while Wyatt Russo made six saves in the victory.
