Men’s Basketball Storms Back in Second Half for 69-65 win in ACAA Semifinals

Chestnut Hill, MA – The SUNY Canton men's basketball team used a thrilling comeback from a 21 point second half deficit to earn a 69-65 win against Alfred State College in the semifinal of the American College Athletic Association (ACAA) playoffs on Friday.

The Roos (18-8) closed the game on a 40-15 run to earn the season sweep against the Pioneers (9-17). Canton will play host Pine Manor College in the championship game on Sunday at 2 p.m.

Romario Fletcher led all players with 20 points and 15 rebounds on 9-for-16 shooting, while Sam Annorh posted 19 points, 10 assists and six rebounds. Rashad Richardson chipped in with 13 points, while Adrian Williams netted 10 points.

Marcus Rhett finished with 13 points, while Tyrone Davis and Marquis Edwards added 12 and 11 points, respectively.

"I am so proud of how our guys battled back tonight," Head Coach Ben Thompson said. "They showed incredible grit and determination. I couldn't be happier for the opportunity that we have tomorrow to win a conference championship."
