Bakre and Stewart Lead Roos in Setback v. Clarkson

Canton, NY – Victor Bakre and Jordan Stewart posted 12 points apiece but visiting Clarkson University used impressive outside shooting to jump out to an early lead and never trailed en route to an 86-60 win over the SUNY Canton men's basketball team on Tuesday evening in the Roos House.
 
Clarkson (3-4) controlled play in the opening half taking its largest lead into intermission at 40-29 as they closed the half on a 9-0 run. Matt Higgins (15), Liam Ellis (14) and Joe Lucas (10) led three Knights in double figures in the opening half.
 
Victor Bakre paced SUNY Canton (2-6) with seven. Clarkson shot a blistering 52 percent from the field and hit 10 of their 19 attempts from beyond the arc (53 percent).
 
 
The Knights cruised in the second half to earn the 86-60 victory. Clarkson finished the game 13-for-30 from long distance and committed just six turnovers compared to 17 for the Roos, which led to 19 Clarkson points off turnovers.
 
Bakre and Jordan Stewart led the Roos with 12 points each, while Bakre added nine rebounds. Andrew Fitch and Adrian Williams chipped in nine and eight points, respectively.
 
Ellis and Higgins led the Knights with 20 points each, while Malaquias Canery and Lucas added 13 and 10 points, respectively. Gary Hanley hauled down a game-high 12 rebounds.
