Utica, NY – Adrian Williams and
Danny Santana posted season-highs in points, while
Jordan Stewart nearly recorded a double-double but the SUNY Canton men's basketball team fell 77-70 to Oswego State in the Utica New Year's Tournament on Friday.

Williams and Santana posted 22 and 17 points, respectively, while Stewart dished out a season-best nine assists to go with 12 points.
Deon Foster was extremely efficient posting a career-high 11 points shooting 3-for-3 from long distance and 4-for-4 from the free throw line in just 13 minutes of action.
Ibu Smith and
Joseph Werner pulled down 10 and eight rebounds, respectively, for the Roos (2-9).

Tyler Pierre led the Lakers (6-4) with 21 points, while Jamir Ferebee (15) and Brandan Gartland (14) also scored in double figures for Oswego State.

The Lakers jumped out to a 39-32 lead at halftime as they received 11 first half points apiece from Ferebee and Gartland. Oswego State extended its lead to 13 just under three minutes into the second half but the Roos trimmed the deficit to just six (53-47) following a Foster three-pointer with 8:50 to play.

Pierre made four consecutive free throws to regain a double-digit lead for the Lakers. Canton battled back to within six after another Foster trey with 36 seconds remaining but Oswego held on for the seven point victory.
