Roos Advance to Championship in PK's, 4-2

Phoenixville, PA – The Roos advanced to the American Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) Championship as they advance 4-2 on penalty kicks following a 1-1 double overtime tie.

The tournament is hosted by the University of Valley Forge. With the win the Roos advance to Sunday's 2:30 p.m. championship to take on Pine Manor College.

In the 14th minute, Edward Malinoski Jr. netted the first goal of the game. Finlandia answered in the 70th minute with a goal of their own. After two overtime periods the score remained tied 1-1 leading to a shootout.

The Roos outscored Finlandia 4-2 on the penalty kicks, as Hector Martinez, Kyle Smith, Connor Bruyn, and Edward Malinoski Jr., all converted on their attempts.

Mouhammed Thiam made two crucial saves during the shootout securing Canton's victory.
