Fitch Posts Double-Double in Roos Season Opener

Ithaca, NY – Freshman Andrew Fitch posted his first collegiate double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds but the SUNY Canton men's basketball team fell 100-72 on the road at Ithaca College on Friday in its season opener.
 
Victor Bakre and Jordan Ayers also scored in double figures for the Roos with 12 and 10 points, respectively. Joseph Werner chipped in seven points and 10 rebounds, while Danny Santana, Adrian Williams and Ibu smith totaled seven points apiece.
 
Riley Thompson led the Bombers (1-1) with 29 points, while Marc Chasin and Carroll Rich added 22 and 10 points, respectively. Ithaca shot 53 percent from the field compared to a 35 percent mark for the Roos (0-1). Canton made 33 trips to the free throw line (21-for-33), compared to just 18 for Ithaca (10-for-18), but the Bombers hit 12 three-pointers compared to just three for the Roos.
