Strong Start Leads Women’s Soccer Past UMPI, 3-0

Presque Isle, ME – Three different players found the back of the net in the first 12 minutes as the SUNY Canton women's soccer team earned a 3-0 win at the University of Maine Presque Isle on Sunday.

Madison Rowe got the scoring started in 3:02 in when she tallied her third goal of the season. Just over two minutes later the Roos (5-5-0) doubled their lead off the foot of Kristina DiNardo on her team-leading fifth goal of the season. Rebecca DiNardo got in on the scoring in the 12th minute, her first goal of the season and second of her career, as the Roos led 3-0 at intermission.

SUNY Canton held advantages in shots (25-4), shots on goal (13-1) and corner kicks (3-2) in the competition.

Allison Wakefield made one save in her fourth clean sheet of the season, while Allie Lopez turned aside 10 shots for the Owls (1-6).
