Canton, NY – Allison Wakefield made 13 saves but Lexi Dean scored the game-winner 6 minutes, 11 seconds into the second overtime to lift the SUNY Potsdam women's soccer team to a 1-0 win on Tuesday evening.
The Roos had a golden chance to take an early lead 15 minutes in when a
Madison Rowe pass deflected to
Kristina DiNardo. She took a shot just before a charging Karlee Burdick got to the ball as it deflected to
Bailey Grace on the right side. She just missed the open net as her shot sailed high.
SUNY Canton held a 2-0 shots on goal advantage over the first 25 minutes, while Potsdam had the upper hand in corner kicks, 4-1. The teams played to a scoreless tie at intermission.
