Canton, NY – Jacob Facey scored his first collegiate goal in the 81st minute to lift the SUNY Canton men's soccer team to a 1-0 win against visiting Southern Vermont College on Sunday afternoon.

The Roos (5-6-1) outshout Southern Vermont (4-10-0) 26-2 in the competition including 11-1 in the first half but were unable to break through as the teams took a scoreless tie into intermission.

SUNY Canton struck for the game-winner at the 80:21 mark when Marc Ramirez delivered a ball from just inside midfield to Facey in the center of the box as he redirected a header just inside the left post past a diving Dylan Berg.
Canton held a 9-0 shots on goal advantage as Dylan Berg recorded eight saves for the Mountaineers. Connor Campbell did not face a shot on net as he recorded his first clean sheet.
