Schenectady, NY – The SUNY Canton men's soccer team dropped a 4-0 road decision to host Union College on Saturday afternoon.
The host Dutchmen (5-1) opened the scoring in the 31st minute when Andrew Fontaine converted on a penalty kick beating Roo keeper
Austin Lamay (Malone, NY) for his third goal of the season. The hosts took a 1-0 lead into intermission.
Union doubled their lead in the 61st minute when Ethan Strauss found Connor Horan for his second tally of the season. The Dutchmen added an insurance marker 10 minutes later on Fontaine's second marker of the day. Pedram Malakian rounded out the Union scoring in the 84th minute.
Kyle Smith (Evans Mills, NY) and
Angelo Vecchio (Baldwinsville, NY) registered one shot apiece for SUNY Canton. Lamay recorded three saves for the Roos, while John Weitzman earned the win in goal for Union.
