Alfred, NY – The SUNY Canton men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Medaille College on Saturday afternoon in the opening round of the Alfred University Tournament.
The teams played to a scoreless tie after 45 minutes of play as the Mavericks (2-3-1) held a 2-1 edge in shots on goal.
Erdous Lebron (San Juan, Puerto Rico) posted the lone shot on goal of the match for the Roos (0-3-1).
Medaille broke through in the 53
rd minute as James Lang delivered a pass to Lachlan Wilkinson who buried a shot into the back of the net. The Mavericks added an insurance marker in the 80th minute when Emmanuel Mante found Mo Hussein who doubled the advantage.
Austin Lamay (Malone, NY) turned aside five shots for the Roos, while Brian Arcara stopped the lone shot he faced for Medaille.
