Laroche Double-Double Not Enough in Road Tilt v. Wildcats

Marcy, NY – Tatiana Laroche (Elmont, NY) and Allison Fink (Saranac, NY) scored 10 points apiece but the SUNY Canton women's basketball team fell 84-42 on the road at SUNY Poly on Saturday afternoon.

The Wildcats (7-0) opened a commanding, 45-16 lead at intermission. Fink led the Roos (1-8) with five points in the opening half. Stevie Ray (17) and Kristaijah Jackson (12) both scored in double figures for SUNY Poly as they shot 52 percent from the field in the first half including knocking down half of their three-pointers (5-for-10).

SUNY Poly extend its lead in the third quarter before the Roos hung tough tying the Wildcats 20-20 on the scoreboard over the final 10 minutes.

Laroche recorded her first double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Fink added 10 points and five boards. Taylor Saltus (Clintonville, NY) and Jenifer Morgan-Aubin (Hartford, NY) added nine points apiece for the Roos.

Ray led four Wildcats in double figures with 26 points, while Jackson added 19 points. Shannon Harrison (13) and Taylor Aybar (12) also scored in double figures.
