Morgan-Aubin and Conway Post Game-Highs in Setback at Clarkson

Potsdam, NY – Jenifer Morgan-Aubin (Hartford, NY) scored a game-high 14 points and Randi Conway (Mount Upton, NY) added a game-best 12 rebounds but the SUNY Canton women's basketball team dropped a 53-35 decision at Clarkson University on Tuesday evening.

The Roos (0-3) jumped out to an early 2-0 lead after Taylor Saltus (Clintonville, NY) found Morgan-Aubin for a bucket in the paint. Clarkson took a slim 9-8 lead after the opening quarter.

Alyssia Marsal scored the first six points of the second quarter to open up a 15-8 Golden Knight lead. The hosts took a 28-18 lead into intermission. Saltus led the Roos with six points and five rebounds in the first half, while Conway added eight rebounds. Marsal paced Clarkson with eight points. The Roos held a 26-20 edge in rebounding in the opening 20 minutes.

Clarkson (3-1) outscored the Roos by a slim 13-12 margin to open up a 41-30 lead after three quarters. The hosts finished strong down the stretch to close out a 53-35 victory.

Morgan-Aubin led the Roos with 14 points on 4-for-8 shooting, while Saltus added six points to go with her four assists and 10 rebounds. Conway added 12 rebounds including 10 on the defensive boards.

Devin Sorell paced the Knights with 10 points, while Tricia Loso, Molly Stewart and Marsal added eight points apiece.
