Morgan-Aubin Records First Double-Double v. Bears

Canton, NY – Sophomore Jenifer Morgan-Aubin (Hartford, NY) posted her first career double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds but it wasn't enough as the SUNY Canton women's basketball team dropped a 63-41 decision to visiting SUNY Potsdam on Friday.

Potsdam (1-1) jumped out to a slim 14-9 lead after the opening quarter and the Bears extended that lead to their largest of the half as they headed to intermission leading by 11 at 26-15. The Roos (0-2) turned the ball over 22 times in the first half which proved costly but they remained within striking distance.
  Morgan-Aubin led the way with eight points and nine rebounds hitting on three of her seven field goal attempts. Patti Dorgler led a balanced opening 20 minutes for Potsdam with seven points.

The Bears doubled Canton up 20-10 in the third quarter to take a 21 point lead after three quarters. The Roos hung tough trailing the Bears just 17-16 over the final 10 minutes for the 63-41 final.

Morgan-Aubin established her presence throughout finishing with game-highs of 17 points and 15 rebounds hitting on six of her 13 field goal attempts. Randi Conway (Mount Upton, NY) and Taylor Saltus (Clintonville, NY) posted seven points each and combined for 15 rebounds.

Drew Dufrane led four Bears in double figures with 14 points, while Dorgler added 13 points and nine boards. Abbey Smith and Secret Clark chipped in 11 and 10 points, respectively.
