Taylor Saltus (Clintonville, NY) scored a team-high 12 points to lead the SUNY Canton women's basketball team but host Keuka College earned a 79-34 victory on Tuesday evening in the season-opener for both teams.
The Wolves opened up a 22-7 lead after the opening quarter and took a commanding 52-15 lead into intermission.
Tatiana Laroche (Elmont, NY) led the Roos with four points, while
Jenifer Morgan-Aubin (Hartford, NY) chipped in three points. Britta Berguson and Katie Stuart paced Keuka with 11 points apiece.
The Roos hung tough staying within eight points of the Wolves after halftime but Keuka earned the victory.
Saltus led the Roos with 12 points to go with four rebounds and three assists, while Morgan-Aubin hauled down seven rebounds to go with her five points. Laroche finished with six points and four boards, while
Randi Conway chipped in five in the scoring column to go with her game-high eight rebounds.
Allison Fink (Saranac, NY) also contributed four points and five rebounds off the bench.
Stuart led Keuka with 16 points, while Berguson finished with 11 points. Sam Laranjo set the offense up with a game-high nine assists.
