Indianapolis, IN – The SUNY Canton participation in hosting the 2016 North Country Region Special Olympics this past April has been nominated for the October NCAA Division III Special Olympics Spotlight Poll. It is one of three stories from Division III institutions chosen by the NCAA to appear in the Division III monthly newsletter and on the Division III homepage.
The poll opened at the beginning of October and the story with the highest number of votes by midnight on October 25th will be the winner. The winning school will be given $500 to use for its next Special Olympics event.
The Roos have hosted the North Country Region Special Olympics for the past four years and will continue the partnership with Special Olympics for the foreseeable future. To recognize the SUNY Canton and Special Olympics partnership and help the Roos win the competition click

The Roos previously won the July 2015 Special Olympics Spotlight Poll featuring Trudy Davis. SUNY Canton won the competition with 510 of the 797 votes (64 percent).
