Cook & Smith Net First Collegiate Goals in 3-0 Win at Paul Smith’s

Paul Smith's NY – The SUNY Canton men's soccer team got off to a quick start leading to a 3-0 victory on the road against Paul Smith's College on Wednesday.
 
Tyler Cook (Antwerp, NY) got the scoring started with his first collegiate goal off a pass from his high school teammate Edward Malinoski, Jr. (Evans Mills, NY). Kyle Smith (Evans Mills, NY) would also find the back of the net for the first time in a Roo uniform off the set up from Hunter Mowery (Elizabethtown, NY).
 
Senior Jose Menendez (Maracay, Venezuela) added an insurance marker on his second goal in three games. Andrew Barber (Lansing, NY) was credited with the assist on the play, his first point with SUNY Canton.
 
The Roos took a 3-0 lead into intermission that they would hold throughout the second half. SUNY Canton finished the game with 11 shots on goal, while the Bobcats put four shots on goal.
 
Austin Lamay (Malone, NY) earned the win making two saves in the first 45 minutes, while Mouhammed Thiam (New York, NY) turned aside two shots in the second half.
