Six Different Players Score as Men’s Soccer Defeats Johnson State, 6-1

Johnson, VT – Edward Malinoski, Jr. (Evans Mills, NY) and Tyler Gallagher (Potsdam, NY) recorded a goal and assist each as the men's soccer team earned a 6-1 road victory against Johnson State College on Sunday.

Hunter Mowery (Elizabethtown, NY) got the scoring started for the Roos in the 28th minute off a quick restart as he buried his team-leading third goal of the season. Two minutes later Nick Magliano (Farmingville, NY) found the back of the net for the first time this season after Badger goalkeeper Berkan Agul made an initial save on a Gallagher shot. SUNY Canton led 2-0 at intermission.

The Roos continued their offensive outburst in the second half when a defender stopped a Tyler Cook (Antwerp, NY) shot but Maurizio Paniconi (Carolina, Puerto Rico) put home the rebound for the 3-0 lead. Malinoski tallied his second goal in as many games in the 72nd minute when he was the recipient of an Angelo Vecchio (Baldwinsville, NY) cross.

Gallagher and Devin Gruneisen (Potsdam, NY) closed out the scoring for the Roos with a pair of goals less than a minute apart. Malinoski and Austin Brault (Peru, NY) earned helpers on the goals. Johnson State added a late goal off the foot of Richie Perez.

Patrick Anunziatta (Schenectady, NY) stopped four shots in his first start of the season for the Roos. Agul made eight saves in the first half, while Alex Pakatar made four stops in the second half for the Badgers.
