Fredonia, NY – The SUNY Canton women's volleyball team used a balanced team effort to earn a 3-0 (25-17, 25-13, 25-7) sweep of Hilbert College on Friday at the Fredonia Tournament.
The Roos (14-3) had four players finish with seven kills or more paced by nine from
Kelsy Cornish (Honeoye, NY).
Morgan Bills (Walworth, NY) and
Haley Riley (Lowville, NY) floored eight kills apiece, while
Jenea Shoemaker (Walworth, NY) added seven putdowns.
Robyn Carroll (Bowmanville, ON) posted a team-best 11 digs, while
Peyton Robinson (Bloomfield, NY) dished out a match-high 33 assists.
SUNY Canton recorded 39 kills in the match compared to just 16 for the Hawks. Meanwhile the Roos were extremely accurate finishing with a .301 hitting percentage on 93 attack attempts. Hilbert registered 16 kills in the match, but committed 18 errors.
The women's volleyball team is back in action on Saturday for day two of the Fredonia Tournament. The Roos face Ithaca College at 10:00 a.m. before a 12:30 matchup with host Fredonia.
