Pittsburgh, PA – Becca Kieffer (Lee Center, NY) stopped 38 shots but the SUNY Canton women's hockey team's offense was unable to get going in a 3-0 loss to Chatham University in the season opener for both teams on Saturday evening.
Chatham scored three times in the second period including once on the power play to earn the victory. Megan Buchanan turned aside 19 Roo shots to earn the shutout.
Grace Lyon (Brasher Falls, NY) led the Roos with four shots, while
Bineh Garrow (Akwesasne, NY) challenged Buchanan three times.
Margaret Troiano (Morristown, NY) went 14-for-24 in the faceoff circle, while
Lora Ardoin (Houston, TX) also had 11 faceoff wins.
