Gallagher Gives Men’s Soccer Early Lead in Road Battle at Cortland

Cortland, NYTyler Gallagher (Potsdam, NY) gave the Roos an early lead over host SUNY Cortland but the Red Dragons used eight unanswered scores to earn an 8-1 win against SUNY Canton on Sunday.
 
Gallagher netted the contest's first score and his first of the season in the eighth minute when he capitalized on a Cortland misplay in the box and slipped a shot inside the right post.

Cortland's Sean Streb netted back-to-back goals just 65 seconds apart midway through the half, Darren McCormack converted a penalty kick in the 29th minute and Daniel Tesoro scored his first in the 35th minute to make it a 4-1 game at the half.

Ole Daumann scored off a header in the 50th minute to push the lead to 5-1. Tesoro scored his second of the game in the 59th minute, Reiser made it 7-1 off Tesoro's assist in the 61st minute and Tyler Marsh finished the scoring in the 82nd minute off Connor Brown's cross in front.     
 
Freshman goalie Patrick Anunziatta (Schenectady, NY) made six saves in 60:34 before giving way to freshman Austin Lamay (Malone, NY), who stopped four shots over the final 29:26.
