Box Score 3 (Canton, N.Y.) – The SUNY Canton women's volleyball team swept all three matches in their home tournament on Saturday with wins over Paul Smith's College, Johnson State College and St. Joseph's College.
The Roos, who are tied for third in the USCAA Coaches Poll, improved to 10-2 overall and remained unbeaten at home with a 6-0 mark.
SUNY Canton opened against Paul Smith's and won 25-8, 25-15 and 25-19. The Roos then beat Johnson State 25-8, 25-5 and 25-12 and ended the day with a 25-8, 25-10, 25-16 victory over St. Joseph's.
Freshman
Kiana Archer (Plattsburgh, N.Y.) had 11 assists, six digs and four service aces in the match against Paul Smith's. Sophomore
Mackenzie Mynter (Churchville, N.Y.) added nine assists. Freshman
Morgan Bills (Walworth, N.Y.) and sophomore
Caitlin Grimshaw (Adams, N.Y.) each contributed six kills and senior
Abbey Shoen (Waddington, N.Y.) had five kills.
Against Johnson State Mynter distributed 18 assists and notched four aces. Archer added 11 assists and two kills. Sophomore
Jessica Reynolds (Oakville, Ontario) had six kills and four digs. Shoen and senior
Heather Lottie (Canton, N.Y.) nailed seven kills each and freshman
Rachel Lowther (Woodbridge, Va.) chipped in with four kills.
In the Roos final match Mynter handed out 24 assists and made four kills and four digs. Bills added six kills, four aces and three blocks. Reynolds and senior
Danielle Swanston (Burke, N.Y.) each notched six kills apiece and Shoen ended with four kills.
The Roos return home next Friday, Sept. 28 hosting Morrisville State College in a single match. They'll face the Mustangs again on Saturday, Sept. 29 along with Oswego State University.
