Box Score (Canton, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton men's basketball team lost to the University of Maine at Fort Kent 71-63 Sunday afternoon in Canton.

Junior
Irving Cato (New York, N.Y.) led three SUNY Canton players in double figures with 17 points and 10 rebounds for his fourth double-double this season. Freshman
Sean Perrin (Prescott, Ontario) drilled four 3s and had 14 points and sophomore
Khalid Vaughn (New York, N.Y.) added 12 points and 11 rebounds for his first double-double this year.
The Bengals held a slim advantage for most of the first half but the Roos fought back and eventually took the lead at 28-27 following a Vaughn layup with 4:49 remaining. Fort Kent closed the half on a 10-6 run and led 37-34 at the break.
The Roos surged ahead again midway through the second half as they continued their spirited play when Perrin connected from beyond the arc that gave the home team a one-point lead at 44-43. Cato followed with a layup to stretch the lead to three points. The Bengals came right back on their next possession and tied the game on a triple from Yoshives Belizaire. From there on in the lead would swing from team to team as both teams were able to work their way into the paint to convert layups. SUNY Canton outscored the Bengals 14-12 in the paint in the second half.
Sophomore
Scott Dixon (Brooklyn, N.Y.) gave the Roos their final lead with a jumper with 6:58 remaining but a three from Jorge Matesanz on the Bengals next possession pushed the visitors ahead for good. SUNY Canton misfired on several attempts down the stretch and Fort Kent hit 6 of 8 free throws in the final two minutes to seal the victory.
Dixon finished with six points and four rebounds. Junior
Ryan Lamica (Constable, N.Y.) also had six points and three steals and freshman
Tyler Ellison (New York, N.Y.) contributed five points and two steals.
Othniel Hyliger led the Bengals with 20 pionts and 12 rebounds and Manny Odugbela added 18 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.
The Roos will host the University of Maine at Presque Isle on Monday, Jan. 9 at 2 p.m.
