(Plattsburgh, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton women's volleyball team dropped their first two matches at the SUNY Plattsburgh tournament on Friday losing to St. Michaels College 3-0 (13-25, 15-25, 10-25) and Plattsburgh 3-1 (13-25, 26-24, 12-25, 22-25).
In the opening match against St. Michael's,
Mackenzie Mynter (Churchville, N.Y.) distributed 10 assists.
Jessica Reynolds (Oakville, Ontario) added eight kills.
Heather Byron (Merrill, N.Y.) had five digs and
Amanda Brown (Massena, N.Y.) had three blocks.
Against Plattsburgh, Reynolds had 14 digs and 13 kills. Mynter recorded 25 assists and four blocks, and Byron contributed 14 digs.
"St. Michael's is a solid DII team," said head coach
Carol LaMarche. "They came out swinging and were hard to defend against. We had been looking forward to playing Plattsburgh again, and although our defense improved over our the St. Michael's match, we were not able to find our rhythm."
The Roos will face Elms College and Paul Smith's College on Saturday.
