(Oswego, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton women's volleyball team earned another split on Saturday in the Oswego State Tournament as they beat Morrisville State 3-0 in the morning and fell to SUNYIT 3-1 in the afternoon.
The Roos (12-10), ranked seventh in the USCAA, beat the Mustangs 25-12, 25-8, and 25-20 and lost to the Wildcats 22-25, 10-25, 25-21, 17-25.
Jessica Reynolds (Oakville, Ontario) made the all-tournament team for the Roos, who went 2-2 in the tournament.
Reyolds pounded down 15 kills and had three digs in the win over Morrisville and added 11 kills, three aces and two digs against SUNYIT.
Mackenzie Mynter (Churchville, N.Y.) handed out 19 assists in the first match and also had six aces and four kills.
Caitlin Grimshaw (Adams, N.Y.) collected five kills and two aces.
Abbey Shoen (Waddington, N.Y.) contributed nine aces and
Amanda Brown (Massena, N.Y.) chipped in with three kills and two blocks.
Mynter had 33 assists against SUNYIT along with seven kills, seven digs and three blocks. Brown had nine killss. Grimshaw added eight kills, and Shoen had six digs and four kills.
SUNY Canton will face SUNYIT again this week on Monday at 6 p.m. in Utica. They'll also play at Alfred University on Friday, Oct. 14 and in a tri-match at Geneseo State on Saturday, Oct. 15.
