Rob Liggio (Canton, N.Y.) joined an exclusive club Friday night when he scored the 100th point of his career helping the SUNY Canton men's ice hockey team roll over Binghamton University 15-0 in an ACHA Division I game.
Liggio netted three goals and set up another in Friday's night game and he now has 102 career points. He entered the season with 92 points and inched closer to the 100-point mark with six points in last weekend's two-game sweep of Lebanon Valley College. The last player to join the 100-point club was Mark Talamo two seasons ago.
Senior forward
Darren Camp (Canton, N.Y.) had one assist against Binghamton and is now one point away from joining Liggio in the 100-point club.
Dave Schneider (Indianapolis, Ind.) also scored three goals for the Roos who moved to 3-0 this year.
Austin Root (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) had two goals and one assist.
Corey Frizell (Orleans, Ontario) added one goal and two assists, and
Jake Rakitis (Long Beach, Calif.),
J.R. Lafferty (Williamstown, N.J.), and
Trevor Wight (Clearwater, Fla.) each scored once.
Michael Pittman (Amarillo, Texas) had 10 saves as he played all of the first period and 10:30 of the second period.
Chris Ypsilantis (Budd Lake, N.J.) finished the game making his first appearance of the year and the freshman stopped all nine shots he faced.
The Roos face the University of Scranton Saturday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
