(Potsdam, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton men's ice hockey team suffered a 4-1 setback to SUNY Potsdam Wednesday night at Maxcy Hall.
The Roos (5-1) had been red-hot entering Wednesday night's game winning their first five games to start the season.
Jimmy Merrow (Plainsboro, N.J.) stopped a season-high 37 shots in goal for the Roos. The senior had 19 saves in the second period and allowed just one goal holding off a barrage of Potsdam shots.
Jeremiah Hardin (Alpharetta, Ga.) put the Roos on the board when he scored unassisted 4:17 into the third period. It was Hardin's third goal of the year and his team-leading second unassisted tally.
Brett Waters, Patrick Choules, Jordan Delong, and Brandon Couto scored for the Bears. Trevor O'Neil had 14 saves through two periods and Kevin McFarland had four saves in the third period.
The Roos will hit the road this weekend when they travel to Philadelphia, Pa. for a two-game series with Drexel University on Friday and Saturday. They'll also face Cortland State College on Sunday.
