Werner had a monster start to the season tallying game-highs of 23 points and 14 rebounds, while shooting 11-for-15 (73.3 percent) from the field in a road loss at SUNY Potsdam. He also finished with a steal and assist and made his lone three-point attempt. He distributed his scoring evenly in both halves tallying 11 in the first and 12 in the second.
