Matos had a monster week leading the Roos to a 3-1 start in the Clemente Cup. The sophomore went 8-for-17 scoring five times and driving in nine runs in the four contests. He opened the tournament going 3-for-5 with three runs a double, home run and 2 RBI in a 9-6 win against Pitt-Greensburg on Friday. He followed that up with a 2-for-5 performance on Saturday when he hit a grand slam in his native town of Anasco in an 8-6 victory against Penn State Abington. Matos combined to go 3-for-7 in a split against Greensburg and Oneonta on Sunday and Monday.
