Johnston turned in an impressive performance on Saturday at the Johnson State College Invitational finishing in second place overall out of the 35 runner field. He covered the 8-kilometer course in a time of 27:21, just 23 seconds behind the individual winner. The senior averaged just 5:30 per mile over the nearly 5 mile course.
 
The men’s cross country team returns to the trails on Saturday when it travels across town to take part in the Hoffman Invitational hosted by St. Lawrence University.
