Mark Martin enters his first season as an assistant coach with the SUNY Canton women’s soccer program during the 2024 season.
Martin spent six seasons as the varsity girls soccer coach at Gouverneur Central from 2015 to 2020 after leading the modified girls to their first ever undefeated season the previous year. The varsity team had undefeated seasons in both 2018 and 2020, while Martin was named Coach of the Year in 2018 for Section X. The Wildcats were Class B champions in 2016, 2018 (Co-Champs) and Class B runner-up in 2015.
Most recently Martin coached varsity boys soccer at Jordan-Elbridge Central in Jordan, NY. The team made the playoffs in 2022 for the first time in seven years. Martin has also been involved with the Rush Soccer Club as well as DBA NNY Lightning/Freeze over the years.
Martin has also coached varsity track and field at the high school and modified level at Jordan-Elbridge as well as serving as a substitute teacher at both Jordan-Elbridge and Gouverneur.
