Laura Levitus was added to the SUNY Canton women’s soccer coaching staff as an assistant coach ahead of the 2025 season.
Levitus was a three-year captain of the SUNY Adirondack women’s soccer program. She appeared in 23 career games registering a pair of assists. She earned an Associate’s degree in Applied Science, Management, Marketing & Entrepreneurship from SUNY Adirondack and a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from Cortland. Following graduation Levitus was an assistant varsity girls soccer coach at Cohoes High School, her alma mater. Levitus was a standout two-sport athlete at Cohoes where she was a goalkeeper for the soccer team and defender for the lacrosse team.
"I'm ecstatic to bring Laura on staff with us for the 2025-26 season,” Head Coach Matt Milograno said at the time of her hiring. “Having completed a sport management degree in 2024 and experience captaining her team at the collegiate level made her an ideal candidate to help support our current and future student athletes. Laura also brings coaching experience with a high school program in Albany to the table, a huge benefit to our student-athletes. I'm confident Laura's energy and experience will contribute greatly to the program and I'm excited to continue moving the program forward with her."
Levitus also served as an operations intern with the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) in the summer of 2023 and was a compliance intern at the University at Albany in the fall 2024 semester.
"I'm beyond excited to begin my new role as the assistant women's soccer coach here at SUNY Canton." Levtius said upon being hired. "A huge thank you to Coach Matt Milograno for this incredible opportunity – I'm truly grateful for the chance to contribute to such a strong and driven team. I can't wait for the season ahead, I know this group of women are ready to take on the season with determination and pride. Go Roos!"
