Erica Sloan enters her second season as a volunteer assistant coach during the 2025-26 season.
SUNY Canton won eight games including six in league play earning the women's hockey team's first ever SUNYAC playoff appearance following the 2024-25 regular season before falling narrowly at No. 4/2 nationally-ranked Oswego. The Roos earned the highest ranked victory of any of SUNY Canton's sports in school history when they defeated No. 2 nationally-ranked Adrian on the road behind a 42 save shutout from Abby Seaman as Riley Andzel scored the OT game-winner. Less than two weeks later the team earned their second top five win defeating No. 5/4 Cortland 2-1 at home on Hockey Reunion Weekend.
During the season eight players earned 10 different weekly awards from the SUNYAC. Molly. Lenihan was named the Goaltender of the Week twice (11/18, 1/27) and Alyssa Townsley was tabbed both the Goaltender and Rookie of the Week (2/25). Abby Seaman also earned Goaltender of the Week honors (11/4), while Andzel (12/2) and Isabella Paswaters (2/25) were recognized as Athlete of the Week. Ally Bickford (11/4), Bailey Cote (11/12), and Taryn Oloriz (12/2) joined Townsley picking up Rookie of the Week accolades.
Sloan appeared was a five-year player for the Utica women's hockey team appearing in 122 games registering 157 points on 77 goals and 80 assists including 12 game-winning goals. She owns Utica's all-time goals record with 77 career goals. During her senior season she was named UCHC Player of the Year (2022-23) and earned AHCA All-American honors (2022-23). She was named to the UCHC First Team All-Conference twice (2021-22, 2022-23) and Honorable Mention honors during her grad year (2023-24). She was also a five-time honoree on the UCHC All-Academic Team.
