Jackie Klahold is in her second season as the Head Softball Coach at SUNY Canton. Klahold has had a tremendous amount of success both in the coaching ranks and as a player. During her time with the Roos she has nearly doubled the win total from her first to second season. She coached two United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) All-Americans and two USCAA All-Academic players during the 2013 season.

Prior to coming to SUNY Canton Klahold held numerous coaching positions as she served as Assistant Coach at Susquehanna University and Iona College as well as the Head Coach at Crestwood High School for three seasons. She has been responsible for planning and executing numerous practices, camps and budgets while adhering to NCAA compliance regulations. Klahold has spearheaded the growth of individual player development both athletically and academically.

During her one season assisting Susquehanna University she helped the Crusaders win the 2012 Landmark Conference regular season championship where the team earned the top seed and right to host. Klahold and the rest of the coaches were named Conference Staff of the Year. Prior to joining Susquehanna, Klahold spent one year as the first assistant coach at Division I Iona College where she helped lead the Gaels to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament Regional.

In addition to coaching in college, Klahold has served as the Director of Softball Operations for Frozen Ropes in Plains, PA and was an Athletics Staff Assistant at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
Klahold earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Florida Atlantic University where she was a four-year starter for the Division I Owls softball team. She won four Atlantic Sun Conference titles during her playing career, made two NCAA Tournament Regional appearances and twice was named to the Atlantic Sun All-Conference Team and to the Atlantic Sun All-Tournament Team.

Klahold ranks in the top 10 in a number of statistical categories for the Owls including: 1st in put-outs (2,324), 2nd in games played (279), 2nd in games started (279), 4th in doubles (35), 4th in at-bats (785), 5th in hits (201), 5th in fielding percentage (.985), 6th in total bases (281), 6th in RBIs (89) and 6th in triples (12).

Klahold also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Wilkes University and is currently working towards her Master’s degree at St. Lawrence University in Educational Leadership.

Klahold was inducted into her high school’s Athletics Hall of Fame at Lauralton Hall. She has been a member of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) since 2008 and is a member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA) and Kappa Delta Pi Education Honor Society (KDP).Â
