Ken Gardner enters his third season with the SUNY Canton baseball program during the 2020-21 academic year.
Coach Gardner has over 20 years of experience coaching baseball ranging from the high school level to the New York Collegiate Baseball League. From 2001-2002 he served as a manager for the Little Falls RedLegs where the team went 25-17 and qualified for the playoffs. Prior to his stint with the RedLegs he was manager of the Geneva Knights from 1995 to 2001 one where the team had an overall record of 207-101. The team made the playoffs every year and were New York Collegiate League Champions in 1998.
From 1993-1995 Coach Gardner managed the Newark Barge Bandits of the North Atlantic Baseball League where the team went 52-28 and qualified for playoffs. His team in the Canandaigua American Legion Baseball League went 58-22 over three years form 1991-1993 where they were league champions all three years and district champions in 1992.
Gardner also coached baseball, football and basketball at Carle Place High School from 1978-1990 where his team was NYS Class C Championship runner-ups in 1986, Long Island champions twice and Nassau County Class C Champions eight times.
Gardner completed the critical care paramedic program at University of Maryland Baltimore County and at Finger Lakes Community College. He is certified as a New York State and New York City Police Officer. He also studied athletic training and coaching at Indiana State University and criminal justice/business management at Nassau Community College.
