Women’s Soccer to Host Fall ID Clinic November 7

Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton women's soccer team will be hosting its Fall ID Clinic on Saturday, November 7 from 11 AM to 2 PM for prospective student-athletes in grades 9-12, as well as those enrolled in junior colleges or four-year schools who have filled out the proper release paperwork and documentation. This clinic is focused on athletes serious about continuing their soccer career in college.
 
For interested players looking to meet with admissions, please reach out to Coach Milograno prior to October 31 to set up admissions meetings.
 
To set up a campus tour prior to the clinic, please reach out to Coach Milograno prior to November 6. Those interested in campus tours after the clinic can coordinate that on the day of the clinic. 

Head Coach Matt Milograno and staff are excited to provide an opportunity for participants to experience a college training session, work with coaches and current players, and gain a better understanding of the coaching styles of the women's soccer staff.

The schedule below will give interested parties a rough layout of the day:
  • Campus Tours: 9:00 - 10:30 am
  • Clinic Check In: 10:45 am
  • Field Session + GK Session: 11:00 am -12:00 pm
  • Games: 12:10 - 1:30 pm
  • Q&A Session with Coach + Current Players: 1:30 - 2:00 pm
  • Campus Tours: 2:30 - 4:00 pm

Men’s Soccer to Host Fall ID Clinic on November 8

Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton men's soccer team will be hosting its annual Fall ID Clinic on Sunday, November 8 from 11 AM to 2 PM for prospective student-athletes in grades 9-12, as well as those enrolled in junior colleges or four-year colleges who have filled out the proper release paperwork and documentation.

"We are once again looking forward to welcoming a fantastic group of student-athletes to campus to see how they might fit into our program in the future," Head Coach Tim Penrod said. "As we look to continue growing in the SUNYAC, bringing high-quality student-athletes to our campus is at the forefront of our recruiting process. Giving interested student-athletes an opportunity to perform and compete within our top-class athletic facility with our coaching staff is a great opportunity to see how players can impact our program both on and off the field. I cannot overstate how important our clinic is to our recruiting process: over 90% of our current roster are former clinic attendees."
 
Unlike other ID camps and clinics, the SUNY Canton event provides an opportunity for participants to experience a full training session, work with coaches and current players, and gain a better understanding of the coaching styles of the men's soccer staff.
According to Penrod, "We want prospective student-athletes to leave campus with a full understanding of the expectations we have as a staff and provide them an opportunity to get a good feel for what we're about, both on and off the field."
The clinic will include a full training session, goalkeeper specific training, and the opportunity to play in both small-sided and 11 v. 11 games. In order to ensure quality opportunities for the coaching staff to observe each participant, registration will be capped at 36 participants (30 field players and six goalkeepers).

 While the schedule is subject to change, the below schedule will give interested parties a rough layout of the day:

  • 10:15 AM – Registration Opens
  • 10:45 AM– Registration Closes
  • 11 AM – Clinic Begins
    • 11-12:15 PM: Team Training and GK Specific Training
    • 12:20-1 PM: 7v7/8v8 Games
    • 1:10-2 PM: 11v11 Games
  • 2 PM
