Braydn Bovee tallied seven saves between the pipes as the SUNY Canton men's soccer team dropped a tight match to SUNY Poly on the road Sunday afternoon, falling to the Wildcats 1-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Sophomore forward Demetrius Blake, Jr. had the lone scoring chance of the first half for the Roos with a shot to the low center of the net from inside the 18-yard box, resulting in a save.
- Bovee totaled five saves in the first frame, keeping Poly off the board while facing 10 total shot attempts.
- The first scoring opportunity of the second half for the Wildcats came on a penalty kick after a foul in the box. Jael Casimir converted the attempt to put Poly up 1-0 in the 50th minute of play.
- The Roos defense, anchored by Greg Vescovi, kept things close in the latter half of the match as the offense looked for their groove. Five second half shots from Canton, compared to just one in the first period, kept the Wildcats defense on alert.
- Blake, Jr.'s third shot of the game came from outside the six-yard zone with less than two minutes to spare, resulting in a save by goalkeeper Tyler Barth to close things out.

- Blake, Jr. led SUNY Canton with three shots, all of which landed on target. Juan Contreras, Michael Godinez and Eli Stone each added a shot.
- Bovee faced eight shots on goal, making seven stops for an .875 save percentage. His Wildcat counterpart Barth was credited with three saves.
- The Roos were outpaced in shots 18-6. Eight of Poly's shots landed on goal, while three of Canton's were on target.
