Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton women's soccer program and Head Coach
Matt Milograno have announced their upcoming schedule for the 2026 season.
The Roos will compete in 19 matches with nine home games and eight matches coming vs. SUNYAC institutions in the team's third season in the SUNYAC. After a pair of scrimmages on August 21 and 27, SUNY Canton opens the regular season at home against SUNY Poly on September 1 at 4 p.m. The Roos then host VTSU Johnson the Friday of opening weekend (9/4) before traveling to Utica the following day (9/5).
The team's second week of the regular season includes a pair of non-league home games as they welcome Norwich (9/9) and Keystone (9/12) to the turf. Six of the team's next seven contests are on the road as they travel to Keuka (9/16), St. Lawrence (9/22), Cobleskill (9/26), VTSU Lyndon (9/27), Oneonta (9/30) and SUNY ESF (10/3).
The lone home game in that stretch is the SUNYAC home opener when they square off with league newcomer and former NAC foe Delhi on September 18.
The remainder of Canton's home schedule includes a non-league game with Clarkson (10/7) and SUNYAC tilts with Plattsburgh (10/14), Oswego (10/17) and Morrisville (10/24). The rest of the October road games feature at Cortland (10/9), at Potsdam (10/21) and at Elmira (10/28).
The Roos will look to qualify for their first SUNYAC Tournament. With the addition of Alfred State, Cobleskill and Delhi to the league this year, the top eight teams in the conference standings qualify for the playoffs with the top two seeds earning double byes hosting semifinals on November 4.
The fifth and sixth seeds will host the eighth and seventh seeds, respectively, in first round games on October 28. The third and fourth seeds will host second round games on October 31. The SUNYAC championship will take place on November 7 at the highest remaining seed.
