Canton, NY – Sierra Pabo and
Hope Aniceto both scored in double figures with 15 and 13 points, respectively, but visiting Oswego State earned a 65-58 SUNYAC win against the SUNY Canton women's basketball team on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams struggled offensively in the first quarter as the teams were tied at six more than midway through the quarter. The Lakers used stingy defense and went on a 12-4 run offensively to take an 18-10 lead with less than a minute left in the quarter. A late jumper from Alyvia Roberts off a feed from Emma Perez got Canton within 18-12 after 10 minutes.
- Chelsie Tyler scored five straight points early in the second to get the hosts within 22-19 but Oswego used an 11-2 run over the next three minutes to open up a 33-21 advantage. Canton closed the half on an 8-3 run to get within 36-29 at intermission. Â
- Tyler paced Canton with seven first-half points, while Kat McRobbie-Taru had six but was whistled for three fouls. Madison Guillory and Bri Weaver led the Lakers with 10 points each.
- The Roos got within two points (39-37) three minutes into the third on an Aniceto three-pointer, her second of three straight made threes. Oswego responded with a 14-3 run to open a 53-40 lead with 3:24 left in the third. Canton used a 7-0 spurt to get within 53-47 after 30 minutes of action.
- The Roos got as close as 59-56 in the final frame after a Marijke Kroon putback with 3:14 remaining, but Oswego scored five straight points to ice the game.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Pabo scored a game-high 15 points and tied a team-high with seven boards, while Aniceto recorded 13 points hitting four of her nine threes. Aniceto also set the NCAA D-III era program record playing in her 101st career game. McRobbie-Taru posted eight points and six rebounds, while Tyler tallied seven points.
- Guillory and Weaver paced Oswego with 14 points each, while Giavanna White-Principio posted a double-double with 10 points, 14 rebounds and four blocks and Semaiah Williams was just one point short of a double-double with nine points and 11 boards.
- Oswego held the upper hand in blocks (10-1), bench points (27-11) and points off turnovers (17-6), while Canton had the edge in second chance points (15-8). The Roos turned the ball over 16 times compared to just eight for the visitors.
