Katie's Save Game
Prior to the game the teams recognized Katie Meyer and her legacy through the foundation set up in her honor, Katie's Save. Katie Meyer was a standout goalkeeper for Stanford University, helping lead them to a national title in 2019. Tragically, Katie died by suicide in 2022, a shock to her family, friends, and teammates, as she struggled with her mental health in silence. Katie's Save was set up with the mission to support, protect, and save students and their families from the devastation of preventable tragedies.
Â
Katie's Save is committed to seeking systemic changes at colleges and universities to protect the well-being of students and ensure that trusted support and guidance is offered and accessible. At SUNY Canton, we want to highlight the resources we have available, including the counseling center in Miller Campus Center and drop-in hours on Tuesdays from 1-4pm in the Roos House with Jim Sheppard. Additionally, Coach Milograno offers Sport Psychology Consulting services by appointment.Â
