Canton, NY – Four different players recorded hits for the Roos but visiting SUNY Cortland recorded 16 runs over the first three innings in the regular season finale for both teams on Sunday afternoon. The Red Dragons are receiving votes in the top 25 nationally in both the D3baseball.com and American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) polls.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cortland scored one run on a hit, two hit batters and a sacrifice fly in the opening inning.
- The Red Dragons added eight runs on two hits, four walks and two hit batters in the second inning highlighted by grand slam from Dylan Tierney to take a 9-0 lead after two innings.
- The Roos threatened in the second as Bradley Mills and Lance Phillips Jr. started the inning with back-to-back singles. Canton got a pair of runners in scoring position with one out, but Cortland was able to get out of the jam unscathed.
- Cortland added seven runs on four hits and five walks in the third inning and tacked on another run in the fourth to lead 17-0 after four innings en route to the run-rule win in seven innings.Â
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Mills, Phillips Jr., Sal Diaz and Eliezer Vazquez recorded one hit each for the Roos.
- Zachary Kringdon led Cortland with two hits while Tierney drove in four runs. Eleven different players recorded a hit for the Red Dragons.
- Matthew Nochowitz picked up the win in the predetermined bullpen day for the Cortland pitching staff throwing two scoreless innings with two strikeouts in the abbreviated start. Nick Jessen, Tyler Blake, Warren Miller, Paul Byrne and Will Mccarthy tossed one inning each in relief for the combined shutout with Nochowitz.
- Anthony Favorito took the loss for Canton allowing nine runs with two strikeouts and four walks in two innings. Lucas Gravlin and Daniel Aviles pitched the next 1.2 innings in relief surrendering six and two runs, respectively.
- Keegan Franklin, John Pascarella Jr., and Maxwell Rose tossed the final 3.1 innings combining to hold Cortland scoreless and totaled four strikeouts.
