Aniceto, Pabo & Moore Lead Roos Past Wildcats

Canton, NY – Hope Aniceto, Sierra Pabo and Torie Moore led the SUNY Canton women's basketball team to a 76-42 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) win against SUNY Poly on Saturday afternoon in the Roos House.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Roos held the Wildcats to just five points in a low scoring first quarter that saw Canton take a 12-5 lead after 10 minutes of action.
  • Both teams found their scoring touch in the second stanza as the Roos held a slim 20-17 in the quarter advantage taking a 32-22 lead into intermission. Aniceto led all players with 11 points in the first half.
  • The hosts doubled up the visitors 26-13 in the third quarter to take control of the game leading 58-35 after 30 minutes of action.
  • The Roos extended their lead to as many as 36 on their way to the convincing conference win.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Aniceto paced all players with 22 points shooting 7-for-16 from the field, while Pabo added 16 points, eight rebounds and five assists hitting six of her 12 field goals. Moore recorded her sixth double-double of the season and fourth in the last five games with 14 points and a season-best 16 rebounds on 7-for-12 shooting. Samantha Dayter chipped in seven points, five rebounds, three assists, three blocks and three steals.
  • Alivia Turk was the lone scorer in double figures for the Wildcats with 10 points.
  • Canton shot 41% from the field while holding Poly to 20% shooting.
  • The Roos held advantages in rebounds (62-41), points in the paint (36-12), second chance points (20-8), fast break points (6-0) and points off turnovers (13-8).
