HOW IT HAPPENED
- Plattsburgh had a great early chance nearly 11 minutes in when John Hayes received a pass at the top of the box and ripped a shot off the top of the crossbar.
- The Cardinals got on the board in the 13th minute off their third corner kick of the game. Santiago Vargas took the corner from the left side into the box as Brian Coughlan headed it forward to Thomas O'Neill. O'Neill's initial header went off the crossbar but the rebound came right to him as he finished into the left corner for the early lead.
- Plattsburgh appeared to nearly have a second goal with less than 24 minutes left in the opening half, but that play was negated as a Cardinal player was offside.
- The Cardinals doubled their lead in the 39th minute. The Roos tried to head the ball away from their own defensive end, but it went right to Connor Howe. He played the ball into the box where Jack Murphy turned and put home his first goal of the season.
- Plattsburgh held a 4-0 shots on goal edge and took a 2-0 lead into intermission.
- The Cardinals tacked on a third goal one minute into the second half when Vargas played a ball up the right side for Tristan Laundree. He found John Hayes in the box who finished for his team-leading 13th goal of the season.
- Shalvey added his second goal of the season in the 70th minute and Bradyn Primus tacked on the Cardinals fifth goal for a 5-0 final.
